Common questions
What device do we need?
Any device with a camera and a web browser: an Android tablet, an iPad, a laptop or a phone. You buy it and keep it on site. We test MoonBell on a Samsung tablet.
Can staff clock in without their face?
Yes. Where you turn the PIN on, staff can clock in with a PIN instead.
What if the tablet cannot reach MoonBell?
Staff cannot clock in until it is back, because there is no offline mode. Check the site's Wi-Fi first, and record the hours by hand for payroll in the meantime. When we need to take MoonBell offline for maintenance, we try to do it outside shift changes and tell you first.
Do we need Xero?
No. With Xero Payroll, MoonBell sends approved timesheets and leave to Xero. With Crystal Payroll, it makes a pay file for you to import.
Does MoonBell pay our staff?
No. MoonBell does not hold pay rates or pay anyone. It hands approved hours to your payroll.
Where is our data kept?
On Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Sydney, Australia. It is encrypted.
Who sets up our account?
We do: your account, your sites and your managers' logins.
